Project Portfolio

After navigating a sea of StackOverflow questions, GitHub issues, Jekyll tutorials and long lost READMEs - I present; My first motivated shot at web development since high school. The goal is to provide fresh insights about my projects as they mature regardless the technical knowledge of the reader.

Atchitecture

The theme used is Barber by Thomas Vaeth and gives a minimal modern and humbling vibe. The architecture behind what you see is simple:

  • GitHub hosts pre-built files
  • Jekyll markdown and content
  • Netlify builds jekyll and hosts site

This lets me largely skip the front-end web-stack (HTML, JS, CSS etc) and jump directly into writing and deployment. That being said, the README for (any) Jekyll theme is mandatory literature. Even then you might want to glance over at this issue.

Purpose

Full disclosure - there never was a scope for this project. Originally, it was to serve as an online curriculm vitae, perhaps featuring a project or two. That was it.

An experience doesn’t exist until it begins unravelling. As it does so, the meandering journey shapes the experience and its outcome. Bluntly speaking, Barber by Thomas Vaeth is subjectively the best theme out there. However, it is also meant for blogs - and not a portfolio.

I wonder if there’s a way to use the blog tags to organize something that resembles a portfolio. The word portfolio has lost all meaning in my head.

Thank you & Good night
